A Day Trip from Lake Garda to Parco Giardino Sigurtà

Daytrip near Lake Garda - Parco Sigurta

Everyone who has set foot in our lakefront garden knows how much we love blooming flowers. What could we better recommend than a day trip to one of the region’s most beautiful botanical gardens, Parco Giardino Sigurtà?

Located a 1,5 hour drive from our hotel Parco Giardino Sigurtà is an enchanting destination for anyone who loves flowers, beautiful landscapes and being surrounded by nature. With its immense green spaces, colourful flower displays, peaceful ponds and resident animals, it makes for a wonderful day trip from Lake Garda.

And at 600,000 square metres, there is plenty to discover.

Parco Giardino Sigurtà: A Garden for Every Season

One of the things we love most about Sigurtà is that the garden changes throughout the year. Each season brings its own colours, flowers and special attractions, making every visit a little different.

Spring is a spectacular time to visit, especially during the famous tulip season. Thousands of tulips fill the park with vibrant colours during Tulipanomania, creating one of the most impressive floral displays in the area.

As the season progresses, the Rose Avenue becomes one of the garden’s highlights. Roses line the pathway in a beautiful display of colour and fragrance, making it a particularly romantic place to stroll.

Summer brings even more variety, with water lilies, dahlias, sunflowers and other seasonal flowers adding bright splashes of colour throughout the park. The ponds and waterways provide peaceful places to stop and enjoy the scenery, while the large lawns and wooded areas offer welcome shade on warmer days.

By autumn, the colours change again. The foliage takes on warm golden and red tones, creating a completely different atmosphere.

In other words, there is really no bad time to visit — just different reasons to come back.

More Than Just a Botanical Garden

Daytrip near Lake Garda - Parco Sigurta

Although flowers are undoubtedly the stars of Parco Giardino Sigurtà, there is much more to discover.

The park is also home to a charming variety of animals, including deer, donkeys, goats, sheep and horses. Ducks and other birds can be found around the park’s ponds, adding to the feeling that you are exploring a living landscape rather than simply visiting a formal garden.

For families, the animals are an especially lovely part of the experience. For adults, they bring an unexpected sense of tranquillity to an already peaceful setting.

Explore Sigurtà by Golf Cart or E-Bike

At 600,000 square metres, Parco Giardino Sigurtà is certainly large enough to make you think twice about exploring the entire park on foot.

Luckily, you don’t have to!

If you would rather take it easy, you can rent a golf cart and explore the garden comfortably at your own pace. For those who prefer something a little more active, e-bikes are another wonderful way to cover the park without tiring yourself out.

This also means you can spend more time enjoying the things that brought you there in the first place: stopping to admire a flower, taking photographs, finding a quiet corner beneath the trees or simply enjoying the landscape.

How to Visit Parco Giardino Sigurtà from Lake Garda

A visit to Parco Giardino Sigurtà is an easy addition to a Lake Garda holiday itinerary. The park is located near Valeggio sul Mincio, making it an enjoyable excursion from the lake and the surrounding towns.

We recommend allowing several hours to explore, particularly if you would like to see the gardens at a leisurely pace. If you are visiting during one of the park’s seasonal flower events, give yourself plenty of time — you will almost certainly find yourself stopping for photographs along the way.

After your visit, you can continue exploring the charming countryside around Valeggio sul Mincio before heading back towards Lake Garda.

A Perfect Day Trip from Lake Garda

For us, Parco Giardino Sigurtà feels like a natural recommendation.

We have always believed that flowers have a special way of making a place feel happy, peaceful and alive — which is perhaps why we feel so at home in a garden. And if you love the flowers in our own lakefront garden, we think you will love seeing what happens when that passion is expanded across 600,000 square metres.

So, when you are looking for things to do near Lake Garda, take a day away from the lake and immerse yourself in one of the area’s most beautiful gardens.
